Pommern joined the fleet of Åland shipowner Gustaf Erikson in 1923. Here she mainly sailed the grain trade route between Europe and Australia.
From May to September, you can step aboard and join a fictional 100-day voyage around the world in the 1930s and experience seafaring life with all your senses. Start on the weather deck where you'll walk around with an audio guide and eavesdrop on the crew. While the adults listen to their audio guide, the children will hear Ruby, the quirky ship's rat, reveal her secrets on board. Ruby's eagerness and the soundtrack of the departure are so real that many young listeners have been convinced that the ship is actually going to leave the dock. Below deck, you can relive the journey in two new ways. Firstly, by trying out tasks yourself, then a powerful weather experience awaits in the form of a sound and light show in the hold.
