Ever since it was founded in 2004, Indigo Restaurant & Bar has been a natural meeting place for anyone looking for great food and entertainment in Mariehamn.
Indigo calls itself “your second living room” – and rightly so. With a bar on the upper floor and a courtyard terrace, it’s a place where both locals and visitors naturally gather. Indigo offers everything from a relaxed atmosphere and personal service to excellent lunches and dinners.
The atmosphere ranges from relaxed elegance in the à la carte restaurant on the ground floor to a more lively and familiar vibe in the bar and bistro upstairs. This makes Indigo an equally natural choice for business lunches, family dinners and fun dining as for after work, pub quizzes and spontaneous drinks.
With its heart in the kitchen
The à la carte and bistro menus vary with the seasons, but the feeling remains the same. Enjoy well-composed flavours, beautifully presented dishes and attention to every detail. Classic flavours and well-known dishes from around the world are given new contexts.
You’ll also notice that restaurateur Stig Grönlund has a passion for wine. The extensive wine list includes everything from top wines by well-known producers to more undiscovered gems.
Pleasant outdoor seating
When the sun starts to warm, Indigo opens its bohemian courtyard terrace and serves lunch and the bar’s bistro menu outdoors. Over the years, many favourites have emerged – some so popular they simply can’t be replaced. No bistro or AW menu at Indigo is complete without the Indigo burger and Toast Skagen! Of course, there is always a children’s menu and the option to order smaller portions for younger guests.
Summer rain and chilly evenings are no problem – with a roof, sliding doors, heaters and good company, you’ll stay warm and dry.
When evening turns into night
All year round, Indigo’s bar is a natural part of Mariehamn’s nightlife. In summer, the courtyard terrace and Indigo’s summer club, The Calypso Bar, draw visitors with great atmosphere, cocktails and late nights. The music is always on point – and so is the vibe.
Cosy winter vibes in the bar
As autumn arrives, nightlife continues indoors with craft drinks and other favourites on tap and by the bottle. Every other Wednesday there’s a quiz, followed by weekly after work on Friday evenings.
Weekends often feature DJs, and from time to time the bar turns into an intimate concert venue when KlubbEttan hosts live performances.
Want to book a private event?
Indigo has two private dining rooms – one for up to 10 people and a larger one for up to 24 guests. It is also possible to book the Calypso Bar or the entire Indigo for larger groups.
