The red craft house SALT is located by the quay in Sjökvarteret, the Maritime Quarter of Mariehamn. Here, seven artisans have their workshops and sales in an inspiring community.
In addition to beautiful items by ceramic artist Siv Linney, blacksmith Bert Johansson and textile artisans Ann Eriksson, Gunilla von Nandelstadh, Ilse Berg, Marie Lundgren and Anna Nilsson, the shop is filled with handmade objects and award-winning food crafts by selected Åland artisans and food creators. This means a feast of beautiful and creative craftsmanship – from textiles, silver, ceramics and glass to wood, ironwork, apple juice and chocolate.
The colourful impressions continue among hand-printed fabrics, woven rugs, beautiful jewellery, well-crafted ceramics, needle-felted cushions, knitted mittens and all kinds of creative upcycling. It’s especially nice to know that you will always meet one of SALT’s artisans in the shop – take the opportunity to ask your craft-related questions!
