Föglö is buzzing all summer long

Head out into the archipelago and discover a lively and cheerful municipality with a packed calendar – from rockabilly to dance band festivals.

In addition to market evenings throughout the summer, the traditional Midsummer celebration on 19 June, with maypole raising in three different villages, kicks off the event season. Föglö Day on 27 June is another highlight, with visiting tall ships, a market and folk music on the square in Degerby.

The longest dance band festival in the Nordics

In July, incredible days of music and dancing await. The Åland Dance Band Festival at the archipelago restaurant Seagram truly takes traditional pier dancing to a new level. Here you can combine great food and drinks with dancing right by the shoreline.

The Nordics’ longest dance band festival celebrates its 5th anniversary this year with 9 vibrant days on 3–11 July. Performers include Blender, Larz-Kristerz, Lasse Stefanz, Guns Rosor and Casanovas.

At the same time, Countrytorget takes place in central Degerby with food, drinks, music and free entry. The festival begins with Rockabilly Weekend, a car show and 50s–60s music on 2–4 July, followed by live music and authentic country atmosphere from 5–12 July.

Many also choose Föglö for its tranquillity and nature. In addition to dancing and festivities, you’ll find everything from disc golf, beach volleyball, nature trails and museums to beaches, forest yoga and farm visits.
