Crisp apple temptation from the archipelago

Treat friends to a crisp apple and oatmeal pie with traditional vanilla ice cream! This recipe has been provided by the wife of the famous television cook Michael Björklund.
This apple pie was created many years ago by the wife of the famous Ålandic cook Michael Björklund. He says that it was love at first sight, both for the pie and for its baker.

“We live among the apple plantations on Northern Åland. The apple trees make  for an  incredibly beautiful landscape, and the taste of fresh apples  is an  important  ingredient  in our cooking. I love cooking and baking with apples, and this is my favourite apple recipe. So hurry up and get some fresh apples for this recipe. I promise it won’t let you down!"
