Mariehamnsgalleriet shows the miniature town exhibition: ”Mariehamn, during the 1920’s”, which consists of five exhibition cases with house models in the scale 1:100. It is the Mariehamn’s senior citizenassociation’s subdivision “Nybyggarne” (eg. “The pioneers”) that has built and still are building on the model project. They want to awaken an interest in preserving old environments at the same time as they aim to preserve the knowledge about old building traditions.
Mariehamns stad’s cultural committee, that keeps the town exhibition, have published two pamphlets that can be had in the gallery. The pamphlets describe the houses and their owners in both picture and text.
